Ballasts

The three main purposes of the ballast are: to facilitate starting, provide controlled energy in order to properly heat the lamp filaments. Magnetic Ballasts - Magnetic is the simplest type of ballast and have been for some time. The biggest advantage of them is the fact they can be used for so many different applications. They are also very rugged and can withstand exposure to fluctuations, as well as extreme heat or cold.

Sign Ballasts - Heavy duty and are meant to perform outside in any weather condidtions.  They are UL certified which means they cool or heat depending on the temperature so the coil does not overheat.
